Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao Participates
in Community Service 2009

Washington, D.C.—March 13, 2009— U.S. Representative Anh “Joseph” Cao joined with John Hancock Financial Services Inc. and Habitat for Humanity-Musicians’ Village on a build in New Orleans, Louisiana, as part of the Financial Services Roundtable’s Community Service 2009. Rep. Cao joins 108 other Members of Congress currently serving on the Community Service 2009 Honorary Congressional Host Committee.
 
In addition to building a home for a local New Orleans resident, John Hancock presented a $25,000 check to Habitat for Humanity.

“I was proud to stand with John Hancock and Habitat for Humanity today as we work to better the great city of New Orleans, one house at a time,” said Rep. Cao. “My deepest thanks go out to the dedicated and compassionate people of the 2nd District for their work with Community Service 2009.”

“We commend Congressman Cao for his leadership in Community Service 2009,” said Steve Bartlett, President and CEO for the Roundtable.

Representatives from Senator Mary Landrieu and Senator David Vitter’s office also leant support and were in attendance.

Community Service 2009 demonstrates how the financial services industry works 365 days a year to give back to the communities in which they work.  The Roundtable's Community Service 2009 is in its eighth year and has grown exponentially since its beginning in 2002. Community Service 2009 unites member companies' efforts to improve the communities in which they work, and strengthens partnerships with non-profit partners and public policymakers. The focus of Community Service 2009 is on financial education, with increased visibility of financial education programs in communities.
