Community Service 2008 Company of the Week

July 11 , 2008

Wells Fargo & Company

During the month of June, more than 400 volunteers from Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) put on hard hats and hammered away to complete the second phase of a three-year commitment to build affordable housing in Ramsey, MN.

In collaboration with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Wells Fargo volunteers helped complete framing and interior pre-finish construction at Ramsey Town Center Gardens – a three-year project that will provide 24 new town homes for low-income families. The first eight homes were dedicated in January 2008, with eight more homes scheduled to be added each of the next two years.

Sue Walker, community banking district manager and Ramsey volunteer, said she is proud of Wells Fargo’s ongoing support of Habitat for Humanity because it helps to build strong, prosperous communities through affordable housing. “Our collaborative efforts are laying the foundation for Habitat families to create brighter futures. And we know that affordable homeownership opportunities are key to achieving that success,” Walker said.

Wells Fargo was recognized in April 2008 by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce as a Quality of Life award winner for its work with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.

Congratulations Wells Fargo!
