Webster Bank Teams ‘Walk Against Hunger’ to Help Connecticut Food Bank
Teams from Waterbury, Connecticut-based Webster Bank participated in two “Walk Against Hunger” events this spring to benefit the Connecticut Food Bank. Webster helped the April 26 event in Waterbury set record participation and was among more than 450 walkers in the May 3 event in New Haven. Together, the walks raised more than $185,000 for hunger-relief efforts in Connecticut, enabling the Connecticut Food Bank to distribute enough food for more than 629,000 meals. Webster has been a longtime premiere sponsor of the Connecticut Food Bank “Walk Against Hunger” events.
“Webster is committed to giving back to the communities we serve, particularly to help end hunger,” said Kathy Luria, vice president, community affairs. “We know that now, more than ever, families in our communities are finding it difficult to put food on the table and we want to help change that.”
