The Financial Services Roundtable Participates in Servathon 2009
On Friday, May 1, The Financial Services Roundtable joined Community Service 2009 Partner, HandsOn Network, for the Greater DC Cares Servathon 2009. The Greater Washington Servathon 2009 is the DC region’s largest volunteer event. Over 3,500 volunteers completed sixty service projects in DC, Maryland and Virginia during this two-day community service effort.

Associates from The Financial Services Roundtable accompanied by four BancWest Corporation representatives assembled a yard and bake sale to raise money for So Others Might Eat (SOME) – Elderly Services. SOME is the only interfaith, community-based organization in the District of Columbia that offers a comprehensive, holistic approach to caring for the homeless and extremely poor citizens of DC.   

The Greater DC Cares Servathon 2009 is one of thousands of community service projects taking place among Roundtable member companies and Community Service 2009. To date, over 10,000 volunteers from Roundtable member companies have volunteered in over 2,000 community service projects that have helped nearly 90,000 individuals.
