Because children entering the foster care system have to leave everything behind, for the past 11 years, Prudential employee volunteers have been meeting their needs for luggage – and a little extra love.  In 113 Prudential sites in the U.S. and Europe, volunteers have filled purchased backpacks with personal care items, school supplies and toys for children moving between homes.  "Since 1999 Prudential volunteers have given more than 38,000 filled backpacks to children in foster care -- a sterling example of Prudential's more than century-long commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need our help the most," said Mary O'Malley, vice president of Local Initiatives for the company.
