Comerica Bank
On Tuesday July 22, employees from Comerica Bank partnered up with 130 Metro Detroit Students to sponsor a Junior Achievement Finance Park. The students hailed primarily from Second Ebenezer Church & Solomon’s Temple and YouthVille Detroit.
Finance Park teaches students about the importance of financial literacy through its hands on method of teaching. Students who completed the program were introduced to a five-phase seminar where they learned about credit cards, handling monthly bills, and budgeting, among other useful skills.
Junior Achievement, whose mission is “to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy” served 34,000 students, one third from the City of Detroit, during the 2007-2008 school term.
