On Tuesday, August 12, Citizens Bank colleagues participated in the Citizens Financial Group “’Gear for Grades” program, partnering with Coast to Coast Promotional Products and Recycling for Rhode Island Education. Over 6,000 backpacks filled with donated school supplies will be distributed to disadvantaged children across Rhode Island.
The “Gear for Grades” program is an initiative that was created to help collect new school supplies throughout the Citizens Financial Group (CFG) 1,600 branch network in its 13 state footprint. This year, CFG, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland, will provide more than 30,000 backpacks to youth as they prepare for the new school year.
In addition, the “Gear for Grades” program provides wonderful partnership opportunities with non-profit agencies including YMCA’s, Boys & Girls Clubs as well as many other community organizations.
