Community Service 2008 Company of the Week

Bank of the West

On Thursday and Friday September 4th and 5th, Bank of the West employees gathered for their fifth annual Neighborhood Summit—designed to foster and create sustainable communities. Local government and grassroots leaders joined together to discuss best-practices for Omaha, Council Bluffs, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Mo., and Wichita, Kansas.

This year’s participants focused on implementing “green” aspects into the neighborhoods, and financial literacy. Participants were also treated to a presentation by the National Theatre for Children, “Mad About Money.”

Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey, along with Omaha and Des Moines city council members also attended the event.
